Lens Design
Weighing less than 1.3 kg and measuring 25 cm, the lens design is optimized for handheld use. The 5.5 stops of optical image stabilization further aid handheld use by compensating for camera shake. In situations where extra stability is required, the tripod collar foot is Arca-Swiss compatible for use with tripods and monopods. The optical design comprises five extra-low dispersion elements and two super extra-low dispersion elements, which help to reduce distortions and color aberrations typically found in lenses of this length. The 21-element, 14-group optical design delivers the sharpness and clarity necessary when shooting with 40.2MP X-series sensors, while the rounded, 9-blade diaphragm delivers a smooth and rounded bokeh that's further augmented by the spatial compression inherent in super telephoto focal lengths.
Linear Motor Autofocus
