The uncompromising colour reproduction of LUMIX
Photography style
Normal mode is the epitome of LUMIX's imaging philosophy, "Capturing It All". It captures subjects exactly as they are, providing a fine balance between memory colour and reproduction. Plus, depending on the scene you're shooting or your creative intentions, you can choose from a range of shooting styles, including vibrant, natural and unique monochrome settings. Notably, LEICA Monochrome mode embodies Leica's imaging philosophy, offering deep contrast between black and white. You can also adjust contrast and colour saturation to suit your personal preferences.
Your unique colour expressions, straight from the camera
REAL-TIME LUT
"REAL TIME LUT" is a feature that allows you to apply a LUT (Look-Up Table) directly in-camera for a unique colour expression. You can also create your own custom LUTs. In other words, this feature can be described as "creating an infinite number of photo styles". You can import LUTs provided by the LUMIX Lab app or your favourite creators directly into the camera online for shooting and video. You can also stack up to two LUTs to create your own unique colour styles. Supported LUT file formats are .VLT and .CUBE.
177 MP ultra-high resolution photos
High-resolution manual shooting
The camera also features a high-resolution mode that allows you to capture even the finest details. It uses the built-in image stabilisation (B.I.S.) system in the body to shift the image sensor during continuous shooting. It automatically combines eight shots to produce an image equivalent to approximately 177 MP. It supports both RAW and JPEG formats, as well as in-camera RAW processing, providing detailed imaging with LUMIX's signature image processing. The LUMIX S1RII also supports this mode for manual use, giving you the flexibility to use it in places where a tripod is not available.
The fastest, high-speed burst shooting in the LUMIX S Series
AFC 40 frames per second continuous shooting
A new sensor, a high-pressure, high-durability DC motor and optimized mechanical shutter control allow you to capture high-resolution, high-speed continuous shooting. The mechanical shutter allows a frame rate of around 10 fps, while the electronic shutter allows speeds of around 40 fps, making it ideal for capturing sporting events and wildlife. In addition to the existing settings - such as shooting while checking the subject in live view - the camera also features an "H+ (High Speed Plus)" mode, which gives priority to continuous shooting speeds when the AFC setting is enabled. In H or SH mode, the after view is displayed, allowing you to check the image setting without blacking out and concentrate on the shot.
Back in time
Making a pre-series
The most reliable way to capture a photo opportunity is to rewind time and get the perfect shot. The LUMIX S1RII's pre-serial shooting function offers 0.5, 1.0 or 1.5 second pre-serial shooting settings. This feature allows you to capture those elusive, decisive moments, such as the moment you want to capture when a waterfowl reaches the surface of the water or when an athlete demonstrates a subtle movement.

It captures vivid detail from dark areas to highlights, so you can shoot HDR videos with rich colour transition. The LUMIX S and G Series cameras have a consistent gamma pattern and uniform look, which increases post-production efficiency.
*Dynamic range boost (log) BE: 14 stops. Dynamic range boost (log) OFF: 13 stops.
Better mobility with internal RAW video recording
ProRes RAW HQ / ProRes RAW footage can be recorded directly to a CFexpress Type B card, which is located inside the camera body itself. This means that you can capture the moment with minimal setup and no external devices or cables are required, providing greater mobility for one-on-one assignments and smaller scale shoots. It can also handle a range of other situations, such as when shooting with a gimbal or in tight spaces, giving you increased creative freedom.
Supports 8K resolution external video output
Support for 8.1K/7.2K RAW video output is also planned
The LUMIX S1RII allows 8K video data to be transferred to an external device via HDMI. In addition, a future firmware update is planned to enable support for RAW video data output, including 8.1K (3:2) resolution. RAW video capture, available on ATOMOS or Blackmagic Design recorders, simplifies the video creation workflow and supports the production of high quality video.

Top-of-the-range autofocus and image stabilisation
Phase hybrid AF with advanced AI technology
High-speed precision autofocus
The most important aspect of autofocus is reliability. It all depends on how quickly and accurately you can capture the subject. Phase Hybrid AF uses 779 focus points to capture dynamically moving subjects efficiently. Combined with real-time detection AF, the LUMIX S1RII delivers exceptional autofocus performance even in challenging conditions such as backlighting, low light and small subjects.
Improved eye/face accuracy with advanced artificial intelligence (AI)
High-resolution cameras require extremely precise focusing. The LUMIX S1RII uses advanced AI technology to detect human eyes and faces, resulting in enhanced recognition performance.* This camera enables more accurate focusing on the eyes and face in particularly challenging scenes, such as when the subject's face is tilted or partially obscured.
*When the subject is set to People in Auto Detect and Eye/Face is selected in the Target section.
Improved AF tracking + Real-time detection
Set Automatic Detection* and move the AF frame to the point where you want to start tracking the subject. AF tracking will automatically start as soon as the subject enters the AF frame, meaning you can focus on composing and always be ready to shoot.
*You can switch between Human, Animal, Car, Motorcycle/Bicycle, Train and Airplane in the Subject Type menu under Auto Detect.
Advanced AF tracking + People detection with advanced AI
Tracking AF mode performance has been dramatically improved.* Advanced AI instantly analyses the characteristics of individuals and identifies individual subjects. Even in scenes where multiple people cross paths, such as at sporting events, it consistently and accurately tracks the specified person. **
*If AF Mode is set to Follow, and Subject Type under Auto Detect is set to People, and Eye/Arc/Test is selected in the Target section.
**You may select a different subject if you detect clothing, color, or posture similar to the settings, or if the subject you want to shoot is hidden for an extended period of time.
You can set up the different themes exactly the way you want
Improved real-time detection AF
In addition to people, animals, cars, motorcycles, trains and planes, the LUMIX S1RII now also recognises bicycles. You can also specify the subject of the recognition in detail according to the frame, including human and animal eyes, vehicle windshields, helmets of drivers and motorcyclists, or the nose of an airplane. What's more, you can now use the joystick to switch between the left and right eyes of animals in the same way as you do for human eyes.
Intuitive controls that work in sync with the creator
The perfect monitor for any style
Newly developed 1 840 000 dots tilt and free angle rear monitor
The 3.0-inch LCD display of the LUMIX S1RII 1840k pixels has a flexible tilt mechanism that combines tilt and free angle mechanisms. For still imaging, the tilt mechanism allows the monitor to move up and down along the optical axis for convenient framing. The LUMIX S1RII also offers exceptional convenience when shooting video.
