The NIKKOR Z 28-135mm f/4 PZ uses a stepping motor (STM) for speedy and quiet autofocus adjustment with suppressed focus breathing.
Optimized Zoom Performance
Eleven zoom speeds are available for selection and can be assigned to the zoom lever or one of the paired camera's Fn buttons. Zoom can be controlled remotely with a computer, smartphone, or tablet by using the NX Tether software as well as the SnapBridge or NX Field apps. When used with the Nikon Z9, Hi-Res Zoom can be used, allowing an angle of view equivalent to that of the 270mm focal length with 4K video recording.
