Automatic calibration, efficient and convenient use
The DJI Ronin app has built-in lens data that can be imported into the Grip grip's Focus Pro engine via Bluetooth connection. A single engine can store data for up to 15 lenses.
Bluetooth connection, wireless control
The grip can connect directly to mirrorless cameras via Bluetooth to wirelessly start/stop recording. It can also be paired via Bluetooth with the DJI Ronin app for manual lens calibration. [1]
2.5 hours of battery life, can be used while charging
The Grip provides 2.5 hours of battery life for both the LiDAR and the focus motor. It also allows continuous use while charging via third-party PD fast-charging batteries.
Advanced autofocus, one step ahead of everyone else
Longer distance, wider focus
LiDAR's focal length for human subjects is now 20 metres, [2] about three times longer than the previous generation, [3] so shooting with a telephoto lens is no longer a problem. The 70° super-wide angle of view easily adapts to edge compositions and close-ups, significantly increasing creative freedom. 20-metre focal length for human subjects, 70° super-wide angle of view.
More precise, stable focusing
The improved LiDAR now uses 76 800 rangefinding points, a 77% increase over the previous generation [3], which allows the system to detect the edges of human subjects more sharply while effectively reducing focus seeking. In addition, with LiDAR's 30 Hz refresh rate, focus is reliably locked even when the subject is moving rapidly. 76,800 LiDAR range finder points, 30 Hz LiDAR refresh rate.
Smarter focusing
Tab mode, switch left or right by dragging.
AF topic recognition and tracking
New AI algorithms help to achieve more reliable people and vehicle recognition. Even if the subject is momentarily obscured, LiDAR quickly regains focus.
AF subject change
For scenes with multiple subjects, focus can be quickly switched between subjects.
Adjustable AF focus speed
The autofocus speed can be adjusted in five steps. Lower levels provide softer focusing, while higher levels allow faster, more sensitive focusing.
Selectable AF focus area
Two focus area modes are available: wide and flex spot. In Wide mode, LiDAR can automatically detect and focus on human subjects and vehicles. In Flex Spot mode, the user is free to manually select the objects to focus on.
Flexible combinations for different scenes
Focus Pro consists of four main modules; LiDAR, motor, grip and handheld unit. The operator can flexibly combine these modules to suit different shooting needs.
Operators working alone can use LiDAR autofocus to significantly improve shooting efficiency and achieve outstanding creative results. Multi-person teams can use the handheld unit for precise focus control to achieve more complex visual storytelling. Focus Pro boasts robust capabilities for a wide range of shooting scenes and genres.
AMF, human-machine cooperation
With the groundbreaking AMF mode, which debuts in both the handheld and grip, the DJI Focus Pro sets a new standard in human-machine interaction for focus control, meeting a wide range of creative needs.
The perceived focus
In AMF mode, the front control ring on the grip (or the focus button on the handheld unit) rotates at the same time as the autofocus is activated. This enables the operator to see the focus status on the monitor and intuitively sense the autofocus operation by touching it with his fingers, allowing him to make a quick decision and intervene manually if necessary.
Switch between manual and automatic mode in milliseconds
Focus control is always at hand. In AMF mode, manual focus control can be switched on and off in a few milliseconds. This not only detects the cameraman's intent with great precision and ensures coherent visual storytelling, but also significantly increases shooting efficiency by reducing the number of lapses due to focus mode changes.
Dynamic focus, best in both areas
The innovative AMF feature allows for unlimited creative possibilities. In AMF mode, LiDAR combines with human intervention to create a focusing experience that is as elegant and dynamic as it is efficient and comfortable. The solution delivers a seamless hybrid focusing experience, where technical performance and reliability are complemented by operator intuition and creativity. Rotate the control ring to achieve AMF focus transition, adding a narrative effect to your scenes. Press and hold the control ring straight to achieve AMF focus lock, ideal for scenes with obstacles in the foreground.
Focus assist function with bird's eye view
With DJI Focus Pro LiDAR, the cameraman can more intuitively visualize the subject's spatial position and use the LiDAR Waveform Focus Assist function via the DJI High-Bright Remote Monitor [4] to capture the entire scene from a bird's eye view. In addition, LiDAR Waveform offers additional information such as subject position, real-time reference line on the focus plane, and distance scale to help you assess autofocus status and predict the optimal moment for manual intervention.
FIZ lens control if you want to control the scene
FIZ handheld unit with magnetic rolling resistance
The focus puller gives you easy control of focus, zoom and aperture on the lens. Teamwork becomes more efficient, making it easier to shoot more complex scenes.
The rolling resistance of the control ring is continuously adjustable in real time
The control ring on the Focus Pro handheld unit allows for real-time, stepless adjustment of rolling resistance, striking a balance between comfort and accuracy.
Electronic A-B point marking mode
The electronic A-B point marking mode supports spring-return tactile feedback of endpoints, bringing precision and convenience to focus control.
160 metres communication distance [5]
This is sufficient for most outdoor and indoor recording needs.
Bluetooth recording start/stop
Allows mirrorless cameras to start/stop shooting wirelessly via direct Bluetooth connection. [1]
FIZ engine
The performance of the engine has been significantly improved, offering more precise control and more versatile film language options for professionals.
One-button linking
Supports one-button connection to the handheld unit, eliminating the manual connection process for faster start-up and use.
10 ms low latency
The engine speed is about 30% faster than the previous generation [6] and the response latency is only 10 milliseconds.
Three levels of adjustable torque
The motor torque can be adjusted according to the tightness of the focus rings on different lenses, for smoother operation.
Adjustable rotation direction
The direction of rotation of the motor can be flexibly adjusted to suit different mounting positions.
Compatible with 15 mm rods
Compatible size for a more comfortable fixing.
Magnetic anti-roll Grip handle
A single operator can perform the tasks of a whole team. The cameraman can seamlessly switch between focus and zoom control for an intuitive and efficient control experience.
Focus control
Focus is easily controlled by operating the Grip's front control ring. The control ring speed can be adjusted from 1 to 100, allowing you to customise the rotation range.
Zoom control
The front control ring can be switched to zoom control, making it easy to quickly change the focal length of the lens for dynamic lens handling.
Magnetic rolling resistance, tactile feedback
In focus mode, the amount of rolling resistance is adjustable. In zoom mode, the rolling resistance of the control ring is replaced by a spring return.
Seamless connection, an experience adapted to each scene
Single shooting, double the efficiency
When used in conjunction with the DJI Focus Pro, the DJI RS 4 Pro gives cameramen working alone a longer range, more accurate and smarter LiDAR autofocus, giving them more control over cinematic expressions in dynamic scenes. [7]
Professional, one-shot vehicle shots
With the DJI PRO ecosystem's simple in-car filming solution, the cameraman enjoys a seamless, integrated experience of stabilization, monitor monitoring, and dual-channel camera stabilization and focus. The DJI Ronin 4D Hand Grips and DJI High-Bright Remote Monitor also make it easy to access features such as quick AF subject selection, one-button switching between manual and autofocus, and LiDAR Waveform focus assist. [7]
Feature-rich creativity, intelligent help
Thanks to the FIZ control capability offered by the DJI Focus Pro handheld unit and the DJI Focus Pro LiDAR auto-focus capability, the focus puller can take control of complex scenes using AMF mode. Based on LiDAR autofocus, you can intervene and take control of the focus at any time, and flexibly manage zoom and aperture according to the needs of the moment. [7]
Teamwork, precision focus
DJI Focus Pro needs only a connection to the DJI Transmission system to maintain professional focusing functionality, while offering advanced focus assist features such as LiDAR Waveform for traditional focus pullers. [7][8]
Ronin 4D collaborative lens control
Leveraging DJI Transmission's stable and reliable signal transmission, multiple operators can collaborate effectively using the DJI Ronin 4D. The solution allows the lead cameraman to flexibly control composition with the Ronin 4D, while the focus puller uses the DJI Focus Pro handheld unit in conjunction with the DJI High-Bright Remote Monitor to manage focus during shooting. [7]
