Guided stereo recording
Experience versatile recording with built-in stereo microphones that provide both dictation and conferencing modes. Choose from three microphone sensitivity options to further customise your recording experience. Choose HIGH sensitivity for sharp conference recording, MID for efficient dictation, or LOW for optimal close-up recording.
Low noise microphone unit
The DS-2700 features low-noise, omnidirectional microphones. A built-in shock absorber covers the microphone unit, reducing handling noise from the body.
Studio quality pop filter
The microphone enclosure now features a three-layer pop filter that helps block wind noise and popping sounds when you speak into the microphone.
Dictation mode
For classic dictation of notes or reports, the main microphone records in all directions, so the recorder can be held in any position.
Conference mode
Designed for interviews and small meetings, the conference recording controls the orientation of the 2 microphones in a 90° arrangement, allowing high-quality recording in true stereo. You can record information clearly regardless of the location of the speaker or the direction of speech.
Flexible audio recording formats
The DSS format promises efficient compression without compromising the quality of digital sound recording. The Digital Speech Standard (DSS) allows for fast file editing (insert, overwrite, append, delete/cut) and uses meta-information (index, voice annotations, working types, etc.) to facilitate automatic processing. PCM format with minimal compression provides exceptional quality and compatibility with a wide range of playback devices. At the same time, the widely used MP3 format is an excellent choice for consumer audio storage and allows easy transfer/playback of music on digital audio players.
Voice activated recording with VCVA
The VCVA feature efficiently manages memory by pausing recording at silent intervals and automatically restarting when a sound above a preset threshold is detected. This feature optimises playback efficiency and extends recording time.
Index of signs
Insert up to 32 index marks into an audio file during recording or playback. These marks serve as handy indicators and help you identify crucial or noteworthy segments of your dictation.
Insertion and overwriting recording modes
With the DS-2700 you can open up a variety of recording options. Using the Insert mode, you can seamlessly add recordings to existing audio files without the need for additional additions. Overwrite mode allows you to record previous dictation at any selected point. Finally, Append mode makes it easy to add a new recording to the end of an existing file. With the Add New File button, you don't need to start a new recording until you're ready.
Control and connectivity
The DS-2700 has an easy-to-use, intuitive control interface and a large colour LCD screen. It includes built-in memory for storage, expandability with SD card for additional capacity, and support for additional microphones and headphones.
Easy and secure management with ODMS R8 field software
The R8 dictation module of OM SYSTEM's Dictation Management Software (ODMS) allows efficient management and downloading of audio files for transmission to transcribers, increasing the speed and accuracy of the dictation workflow. Authors can easily download data from the OM SYSTEM dictation handheld or dictate directly using the USB composite audio mode. This seamless integration facilitates efficient collaboration, streamlines transcription processes, increases productivity and ensures accurate documentation.
